Autory v3.1.2

Clearer formula errors

  • When a formula produces a time vector where a single value is required, Autory gives more specific information about the affected variable and how to fix it.
  • Errors in arguments such as file paths are caught earlier.
  • Ordinary scalar/vector mistakes in the Python-Excel engine still produce #N/A cells in the output, but the Python-Julia engine reports invalid definitions before starting calculations.

Better progress reporting for Autory-Julia

With a compatible Autory-Julia installation, Julia runs appear in Autory's progress display. Failure summaries are easier to read, with the full error details retained in the run log. Older Autory-Julia installations keep their previous progress display.

Simpler hierarchy settings and fewer blocked inputs

Hierarchy property settings are now optional. The default aggregator (ResolveMulti) is Error, which produces #N/A when all values don't agree. See hierarchy node properties.

New model workbooks include these changes, available to existing workbooks through patching:

  • Removed the unused DataType column from hierarchy property settings.
  • Fixed overlapping dropdown lists in the user entry-point table.
  • Made data validation only informative, so you can enter anything in any cell.

The new RunMultiple template also allows values outside its dropdown suggestions.
