Autory v3.3.0¶
A simpler hierarchy layout¶
New model workbooks use one Excel Hierarchy table for hierarchy nodes and their properties.
Optional settings tables let you customize level numbers and how property values are combined.
Hierarchy dropdown lists update when Excel recalculates, without needing to leave the sheet first.
Existing workbooks can adopt this layout through patching. The previous hierarchy format remains supported in Autory 3.
The new dropdown formulas need newer Excel functions which are only available from Excel 2024 or Excel 365. Excel 2021 can apply the patch, but the dropdowns will only start working when you move to a newer Excel version. This does not affect the correctness of the run. The dropdowns are purely for convenience.
See the hierarchy layout and examples.
Choose a run's starting point from the ribbon¶
Select a hierarchy node and click Choose run starting point on the Autory ribbon. This fills in the run's hierarchy level and path for you. It works with both hierarchy layouts.
Patching the workbook will remove the selection buttons from the workbook. Use the ribbon from now on.
More efficient large runs¶
The Python-Excel engine uses less temporary memory when transferring large tables of time-vector results to and from Excel.
Faster and more reliable workbook patching¶
Some older patches have been made faster and more reliable. These fixes only apply when the relevant patches are run. They do not restore changes made by an earlier patching attempt. Therefore, if you had trouble patching your workbooks before, now is a good time to try it again.
